Hello, everyone.Kennoji here.

It was around this time last year that quarantine began.It was a huge affair, but since I am a professional shut-in (?), I saw no big changes in my daily life.I sat in a corner, writing all day, like always.And today I continue to live the same life I did back in 2019.

Perhaps not all authors write at home, but I’m the type who can’t write while outside.I feel grateful for that now.

You see, I simply can’t focus with all the people around at a café or a family restaurant.I like observing people, so my eyes tend to wander for that reason before I even realize it.

Though, when it comes to coming up with ideas for the plot or dialogue, I would say I do that outside most of the time.When trying to do that at my desk, I always end up getting distracted by the lure of my computer or manga that’s sitting nearby.

It’s funny how the actual writing I have to do at home, though.

Now, the manga version ofThe Girl I Saved on the Trainhas begun serialization, with weekly updates.I’m sure some of you have already seen it.It’s done so well!

Haco Matsuura is really good at structuring the story for the manga, and the characters Yoh Midorikawa draws are extremely cute!
